**Senior Project Engineer Role Summary**
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the execution of a wide range of industrial manufacturing capital projects from start to finish. This involves developing various project documents, including scope documents, engineering calculations and designs, specifications, drawings, cost estimates, schedules, and project justifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project scopes, specifications, schedules, and investment-grade cost estimates for multi-discipline industrial manufacturing capital projects worldwide with values up to $10M.
- Provide project management and oversight for all aspects and phases of multiple project assignments concurrently, driving projects to completion.
- Perform and/or review detailed engineering in one or more disciplines and coordinate comments and resolve design issues with engineering firms and contractors.
- Design and specify safe equipment and processes, ensuring ergonomics are considered in all areas of design, and that potential safety and health hazards are identified and eliminated during project execution.
- Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed, driving a zero-incident project environment.
- Design and specify environmentally compliant equipment and processes, ensuring that all permit requirements are considered and addressed in the design, and that potential environmental issues are identified and addressed during project execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- 10 or more years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing industry.
- 5 years of project management experience (managing projects up to $10M).
- Ability to travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
- Mastery of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing facility (may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc.).
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical, electrical, chemical, or materials engineering.
- Experience in fiberglass, glass, or roofing manufacturing industries.
- PMP Certification.
- SAP experience.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and negotiating technical specifications and contracts.
- Experience with PHA, HazOp design reviews.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Experience with continuous process improvement (Lean) in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, negotiating skills, and process troubleshooting skills.
- High level of drive and initiative to complete assigned tasks and investigate and seek out improvement opportunities.
- Ability to provide complex and innovative solutions to project and process engineering problems.
- Ability to identify good scope interfaces and be aware of risk management principles to mitigate risk to JM.
