Direct Support Professional

Job Overview
As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for a 35-year old gentleman named Matt with an intellectual disability. Matt enjoys playing basketball, music, movies, and celebrating holidays. This position involves providing compassionate care and support, ensuring his rights are respected while fostering independence and personal growth. You will work closely with Matt in various settings, including his home and community environments. cHours are Friday 4 PM - 12 AM and Sunday 8 AM - 4 PM.

Duties

• Assist Matt with daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
• Provide support in social and recreational activities to promote engagement and interaction.
• Advocate for Matt's rights and ensure a safe, clean living environment.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and any changes

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles.
• Ability to perform caregiving tasks, including cooking nutritious meals and maintaining cleanliness in living spaces.
• Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with Matt

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
