OVERVIEW
The Banquet Captain is primarily responsible for executing events as coordinated by the sales team and working with the F&B team to ensure prompt and seamless service during event.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Confirm setup of event spaces according to customer specifications prior to event including moving furniture and general clean-up
- Getting all requirements for the banquet ready at least thirty minutes before the occasion begins
- Set up of all A/V requirements for event. Managing and protecting inventory of all A/V equipment on site. Working with Sales team to order additional items if required for event
- Orchestrating the event timeline correctly with a good sense of urgency and efficiency
- Ensuring that the questions, requests, and complaints of the guests are attended to
- Meet and greet guest contacts; Observing guests and finding out if they need something or have a query
- Supervise and execute setup and service of food. Delegate duties to servers and oversee activity throughout events if event requires additional servers
- Maintaining good communication with the kitchen staff to aid effective catering service to guests
- Seeing to the clearing of all tables of glasses, plates, and trays and the removal of all linens
- Ensuring that all doors are properly locked up and handing over the keys to the appropriate authorities
- Process banquet checks accurately and efficiently for payment
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, or repair of the facilities. Notifying the maintenance team of any maintenance issues that requires attention
- Creates event menu cards and other templates as needed
- Participate in and lead department meetings
- Practices teamwork and cooperates with peers, being sensitive to others feelings and beliefs.
- Assisting in training additional banquet staff for meal service on the correct etiquettes and ensuring they uphold a high level of hygiene
- Assists team members in planning internal meetings and events
- Assists with special projects as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of client information and hotel data
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and email systems preferred
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
EDUCATION
High School diploma or successful completion of GED
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum two years catering operations or banquet experience, or relevant experience, preferably in a lead of supervisor capacity
- Knowledge of A/V Equipment/Hilton Systems a plus, but not required

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Food Handlers Card Required. Any requirements unique to local and state regulations required. Brand standards and/or additional training required.
ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to walk and stand for up to 10 hours a day, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs on occasion
- Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends
OTHER
Banquet Captains may be required to work varying schedules as dictated by the business needs of the hotel. This includes attendance at all scheduled brand and job specific training sessions and meetings. May require nights, weekends, and holidays.
Consistent attendance in accordance with the standards set forth by Resolute Road Hospitality must be maintained and is an essential element of the success in this role. If the Banquet Server is unable to meet these requirements, he/she will be subject to disciplinary action based on management operating policies, up to and including termination of employment.
