What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master position at RESOLVE MARINE GROUP, INC?

We are looking for candidates having salvage, towing, emergency response and operational experience along US Coastal Waters, in and around Alaska on conventional ocean-going tug/anchor handling vessels with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Master.

Position Responsibilities:
Master – is directly responsible to the office administration. He/She:
- Stands bridge watches to the requirements, the Safety Management System, the STCW and the Collision Regulations
- Ensures that the ship’s navigational outfit including charts and nautical publications are fully corrected
- Ensures safe navigation and piloting
- Manages vessel administration/paperwork
- Protection of the environment, cargo, and environment
- Ensures that safety exercises and drills are conducted seriously and beneficially by the entire ship’s company on a regular basis to the management’s requirement
- Ensures preparation for trip, load cargo and ship’s shores
- Stands watch while vessel is underway as required to reach destination safely and expeditiously
- Supervises disposal and removal of waste material
- Ensures the good condition and maintenance of all safety appliances and fittings throughout the ship
- Ensures all the basic and deck/engine department familiarization training and arranges the crew emergency demonstrations and exercises
- Manages the ship’s environmental programs – including the GARBAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN and the BALLAST WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN, Form VOY 4 – Ballast Water Management Plan
- Ensures the sound arrangements of all safety and other crew committee meetings
- Ensures the effectiveness of shipboard discipline and the Safety Management System
- Ensures stability and hull stress control
- Ensures protection to the environment, cargo and property
- Conducts daily discussion with the Deck/Engine Department ensuring maintenance, upkeep of machinery and vessel readiness
- Ensures good condition and maintenance of mooring ropes and wires, all other lines cordage, running gear and lifting wires and ropes
- Ensures maintenance of steelwork and paintwork etc. on open decks and ship’s sides
- Ensures necessary routine maintenance, repairs, and handles ship’s business effectively
- Ensures the cleanliness and tidiness of the ship’s decks, accommodation alleyways, galley, cabins and machinery spaces
- Other duties as assigned
