Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, and haircutting for various breeds of dogs and cats
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during the grooming process
- Handle and restrain animals in a gentle and compassionate manner
- Clean and maintain grooming tools and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their grooming preferences and addressing any concerns or questions they may have
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a pet groomer or in a related field such as veterinary assistant, kennel attendant, or animal care technician
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Familiarity with grooming techniques, tools, and equipment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and understand their grooming preferences
- Ability to handle animals of all sizes and temperaments in a calm and confident manner
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform heavy lifting when necessary
