About the Role:
The Offset Sheetfed Pressman at Resource Label Group, Inc. is a key member of our press crew, responsible for directing and operating offset printing presses to produce high-quality prints.
Responsibilities:
- Makes ready and operates offset printing press to ensure timely production and quality output.
- Examines job orders to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, and special printing instructions.
- Identifies and repairs minor defects on offset printing plates or reports issues to supervisor.
- Adjusts controls to regulate ink and dampening solution flow to plate cylinder.
- Starts press, examines printed copy for ink density, position on paper, and registration, making adjustments as needed.
- Led the press crew, providing guidance, training, and monitoring work to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Maintains company safety rules and performs proper maintenance and cleaning of press equipment.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a Pressman or 5-7 years as a Second Pressman.
- In-depth knowledge of press mechanics and capabilities.
- Able to accurately distinguish color variation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and turning; ability to regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility.
