What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator position at ZAH Group?
The Press Operator is responsible for setting‐up, adjusting, and aligning various milling machines, drill presses, assembly machines, and punch presses.
Utilize part drawings and work instructions to set‐up and operate a variety of hydraulic presses ranging from 60 to 250 tons.
Set‐up the de‐coiler and straightener.
Use overhead crane and lift trucks to maneuver dies of approximately 2000 pounds to the proper position and secure them in place in the press.
Keep track of location and safety position of bulk raw materials at the appropriate press for production.
Perform frequent quality checks throughout the production run.
Move raw and finished material as needed.
Set‐up and operate the Shear and Noble roll marking machines as needed.
Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and one ﴾1﴿ year work related experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Must possess knowledge of basic math skills. Must be able to read scales, calipers and micrometer. Ability to learn, problem‐solve, and make decisions per work instructions and documents. Ability to communicate and work as a team member. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
Physical Demand Requirements
Occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
