RESPONSIBILITIES
RMS seeks to hire a professional who values sustainability, long-term forest stewardship, and the responsibility of being an investment fiduciary. This position will be part of the Investment Management team within RMS, which is responsible for managing client timberland portfolios and associated client interactions.
DUTIES
Activities include, but are not limited to:
Understand our business and the perspectives of a diverse group of clients and colleagues
Conduct quantitative analysis and provide concise, well-supported guidance to advance team projects:
- Ongoing monitoring of client timberland portfolios
- Timberland acquisitions
- Business development projects
- Ad-hoc client or Investment Committee questions
Help produce high-quality, periodic client reports and presentations
Learn and help maintain critical RMS processes, including careful ongoing management of data
Collaborate heavily with colleagues on cross-functional project teams to ensure the best client outcomes
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep open dialogue with your teams to determine prioritization
Advance projects proactively and stick to deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal candidate has experience building models in Excel, working with data, and creating documents with compelling visual summaries of analyses. You should also hold a degree from an accredited postsecondary institution. We welcome qualified candidates with degrees in a wide range of fields. If there is a good fit, we will teach you what you need to know about forestry, investment management, and other technical requirements for the job.
Qualifications will be assessed during the interview process primarily through a case study. You’ll be asked to review a case with quantitative and qualitative input, make financial calculations to answer case questions and provide us with a short recommendation in presentation form.
