Consumer Loan Processor-Funder

Description

Responsible for clerical and basic accounting support for loan funding activities. Researches and resolves funding errors and reconciles loans. Notifies parties of errors and account problems and resolves them promptly and courteously. Provides assistance as required. Performs related miscellaneous clerical duties as required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assumes responsibility for accurately and promptly performing basic accounting functions related to loan funding.
• Fund proceeds to appropriate entity.
• Validates loan is booked correctly.
• Verifies memberships.
• Audits loans prior to funding. Ensure submitted loan packages are complete, accurate and reflect proper approval authorities relative to the credit decision
• Researches and resolves funding errors. Validates the accuracy of all data within specifiedtime frames.
• Verify all documents contain accurate signatures. Scans/imports documents into the system.
• Communicate with loan officers and other departments regarding missing documents or information to promptly process and fund loan packages.
• Validate loan is booked correctly
• Processes credit life and disability refunds.
• Processes payoffs for external refinances.
• Ensure title/registration is accurate.
• Provides dependable, accurate, friendly and reliable service internally.
• Participates in team and other meeting for the purpose of training, discussion and process improvement
• Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with business contacts.
• Addresses requests and questions promptly and courteously. Provides assistance as needed.
• Receives and screens telephone calls. Answers routine questions or directs them to appropriate personnel. Records and relays messages
• Notifies necessary parties of Credit Union policies and procedures and ensures that they are appropriately informed.
• Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation.
• Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with Credit Union personnel and with management.
• Maintain current Credit Union loans by making any post funding corrections to t6he loan, including, but not limited to interest rate corrections, payment corrections, term corrections and adding distributions for automatic payments.
• Supports and assists loan officers as needed.
• Promotes teamwork to assist department in completing assignments in a collaborative manner
• Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
• Attends and participates in meetings as required.
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
• Completes other duties as assigned, including cross training in current or other departments
• Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
• Stays informed of related policy and procedural changes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months to two years of similar or related experience. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and public relations abilities.
• Solid math skills.
• Able to use computer applications, 10-key, and related business equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Stationary work, often requiring standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Operate standard office equipment and keyboards
• Visually recognize, reconcile, and verify numerical details for accuracy
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Must be able to access and navigate facility with reasonable accommodations
• Lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items
