Description


The Member Solutions Support Technician is responsible for a variety of clerical and administrative functions in the Collections area to allow collection personnel to focus on calls. Functions have a direct impact on minimizing losses and maximizing recovery. Analyze and recommend courses of action regarding collateral disposal, insurance claims, legal actions and loss recovery. Responsible for daily vendor relationships including CPI, Attorneys and back end products. Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance of UCC-9 notices and Credit Bureau Disputes.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Collects on negative accounts and updates accounts on telecheck. 
  • Performs filing and related record keeping duties. Maintains the repossession log book and reports repossessions to the Credit Bureau. Logs all returned checks forwarded to the Collections Department for handling.
  • Performs processing functions as assigned. Receives and processes all incoming garnishments and IRS levies. Processes small claims paperwork as directed by collectors.
  • Prepares title work for sale of repossessed vehicles.
  • Posts trustee payments.
  • Opens and disperses incoming mail.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on collateral sale floors and viability of repair expenses.
  • Acts on notification of impounded vehicles to protect the Credit Union’s interest.
  • File GAP claims, answer Member and employee GAP Claim Inquiries.
  • Pay GAP claims, communicate explanation of unpaid balances to Members.
  • Track and Maintain GAP Claim Spreadsheet.
  • Report Charge Backs and Add-on of Products for Loan Officer incentives.
  • Transmit GAP contracts throughout the month, warranty and DentGuard contracts monthly.
  • Balance GAP with HUB and submit payment, Balance DentGuard with DentZone statement and submit payment monthly, transmit extended warranty contracts monthly and submit payment.
  • Balance GAP, Extended Warranty and DentGuard GL’s with Accounting, research and correct exceptions.
  • Submit GAP, Extended Warranty and DentGuard cancellations to vendors and post refund payment.
  • Submit product commission amounts to Accounting Department.
  • Correct Expired Insurance Dates on Existing Loans.
  • Liaison with vendors concerning Back-End products.
  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members, the Credit Bureau, and Collections professionals.
  • Processes all Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) claims.  
  • Posts credit life, disability, and individual unemployment insurance claims.
  • Assists with claims inquiries.
  • Posts collection payments.
  • Generates and prepares deficiency letters an related correspondence.
  • Performs account maintenance such as closing accounts, pulling titles, and verifying refunds in regard to repossessions.
  • Updates credit reporting trade line for members.
  • Completes other duties as assigned, including cross training in current or other departments

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years or greater of similar or related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • General understanding of collections functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent typing skills and able to operate related computer applications.
  • Willingness to assist and support others.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Stationary work, often requiring standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Operate standard office equipment and keyboards
  • Visually recognize, reconcile, and verify numerical details for accuracy
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Must be able to access and navigate facility with reasonable accommodations
  • Lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items
