LEAP Residential Program Worksite Trainer
Summer 2025
Position Dates: June 16 – July 11 (first week is training), Monday – Thursday, 8am - 4pm
Compensation: $18/hour
The Learn, Earn and Prosper (LEAP) Program is looking for leaders to supervise summer work experiences for youth who are blind or visually impaired. This position offers a rewarding experience and opportunity to propel a career.
This is a part-time, seasonal position. Worksite Trainers oversee youth at worksites Monday-Thursday from June 23 – July 11. Worksite Trainers attend one week of in-person training before the program starts.
Worksite Trainers will be responsible for participants ages 14-24.
Job Description:
· Engage fully in training prior to the start of program
· Provide supervision to participants who are blind or visually impaired at assigned worksites
· Train participants in work skills at worksites and in the community
· Model productivity and teamwork by working with participants at worksites
· Ensure participant safety during daily commutes via public bus, taxis, ride shares, and on foot
· Ensure participant safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being at worksites and in the community
· Create a nurturing, positive, and professional environment
· Administer behavior protocol as directed and document all behavior incidents in partnership with LEAP Staff
· Monitor safety in all aspects all aspects of the program and administer medical protocol as directed
· Communicate daily with LEAP Staff and Dorm Counselors to share updates and navigate challenges
· Participate in weekly LEAP Staff meetings to review participant progress, communicate updates, and manage challenges
· Support LEAP Staff to complete end-of-program participant reports
Minimum Qualification
· Demonstrated capacity for supervising and teaching youth with multiple barriers in a fun, friendly, and responsible manner
· Demonstrated leadership experience
· Possess excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
· Ability to work in a fast pace, high energy environment
· Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to reliable personal transportation
· First Aid/CPR certified (provided if necessary)
· Willingness to undergo a criminal background check
