Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of the Construction staff.
- Value Engineering: Design and implement innovative construction techniques and cost-saving measures.
- Standardization: Collaborate with division leaders to establish construction standards and specifications.
- Partnership Development: Foster relationships with trades to ensure top-quality work.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and contractors to secure the best pricing and value.
- Warranty Oversight: Manage warranty service requests, ensuring timely responses and high-quality workmanship.
- Budget Management: Monitor and manage building budgets, work schedules, and labor forecasts for optimal performance.
- Market Insights: Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Vendor Relations: Develop and strengthen relationships with new vendors to enhance supply chain effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in construction.
- At least 10 years in multi-family construction.
- Strong organizational abilities with effective prioritization skills.
- In-depth knowledge of local building codes, OSHA regulations, and purchasing best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with Build-Pro/Supply-Pro and JDE Edwards is a plus.
