Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our daily operations and drive the growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development, strategic planning, and process improvement. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing teams, optimizing processes, and ensuring that all operational activities align with our business goals.

Responsible Container, LLC has an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join the Container Reconditioning industry in St. Louis, MO.

Role: Manages operations of production areas from the shop floor to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved.

Main Job Duties:

  • Champion for safety
  • Understand and enforce Federal, State, Local, and Company regulations.
  • Follows overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues, implement process improvements, and develop SOPs.
  • Collaborating with the department to ensure quality, efficient production
  • Coordinates general department projects and implements solutions from process analysis.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, including work assignments/rotations, employee training, vacations, breaks, overtime assignments, backup for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Works with engineering on related manufacturing processes, quality issues, and new product implementations.
  • Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.
  • Ensures that staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Coaches teams in best practices to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems.
  • Analyzes and documents business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies and improve processes.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing or pulling up to 150lbs, lift up to 65 lbs, stand for extended periods
  • Occasionally work in cramped and awkward positions
  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights up to 65 lbs.
  • Can work in outside conditions even during extreme cold or hot weather.

Education:

  • HS diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory/management role

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Must be able to work 45-50 hours per week.
  • Must be able to start work at 6:30 AM Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex technical problems
  • Solid skills in problem-solving, statistics, manufacturing quality, and an outside-the-box thinker.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to pivot mid-stream.
  • Strong personal leadership and communications abilities
  • Excellent knowledge of fundamental manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Considerable tact, discretion, and integrity to effectively interface with personnel at all levels internally and externally, including the ability to handle information of a highly confidential and/or sensitive nature
  • Excellent strategic planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
