Vice President of Human Resources

Resthaven, a faith-based, non-profit senior living organization, is seeking an experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead strategic initiatives in change management, employee retention, recruitment, and organizational development. This key leadership role will enhance Resthaven’s mission-driven culture by developing and implementing HR strategies that support a compassionate, engaging, and supportive work environment. The Vice President of Human Resources will collaborate with the executive team to drive growth and change aligned with Resthaven’s core values and commitment to serving residents and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives to support growth, mission alignment, and adaptability within a dynamic senior living environment. Develop and implement change management strategies that promote smooth transitions, enhance employee resilience, and maintain high morale during organizational change.
  • Employee Relations & Human Resources Operations: Provide strategic guidance and over sight for employee relations and day to day operations including but not limited to grant administration, HRIT, payroll & benefit, wage studies, etc.
  • Employee Retention and Engagement: Design and implement programs that foster employee satisfaction and loyalty, including recognition programs, career development pathways, and opportunities for advancement. Monitor and improve engagement metrics to ensure Resthaven remains an employer of choice within the senior living sector.
  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Develop strategic recruitment initiatives to attract high-quality talent who embody Resthaven’s mission and values. Strengthen the recruitment pipeline through partnerships with local schools, training programs, and community organizations. Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process to ensure a positive and seamless candidate experience.
  • Organizational Development: Shape and nurture a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Identify development needs and implement training programs that foster leadership, enhance skillsets, and promote team cohesiveness. Lead initiatives that support a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
  • HR Strategy and Planning: Collaborate with the executive team to align HR strategy with organizational goals, with a focus on building an adaptive workforce prepared for future needs. Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and measure the success of HR programs.
  • Compensation and Benefits Strategy: Ensure competitive compensation and benefits offerings to attract and retain staff. Regularly review and adjust benefits packages, compensation structures, and incentive programs to meet industry standards and support staff wellness.
  • HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local guidelines. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and implement policies that minimize organizational risk.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the HR team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment. Encourage a mission-focused approach to all HR functions, promoting Resthaven’s core values of compassion, integrity, and community.
  • Board and Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a liaison to the board of directors, providing transparent and accessible communication on matters related to Human Resources. Present complex strategic concepts clearly, equipping stakeholders with the information needed to make informed decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in human resources, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in senior living, healthcare, or a faith-based organization preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Proven expertise in change management and organizational development.
    • Strong background in employee retention and engagement strategies.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective recruitment and talent acquisition programs.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
    • Knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and best practices.
    • Ability to lead and inspire a team aligned with Resthaven’s mission and values.
