Job Description
Purpose: Teaches adult, junior, as well as private and semi-private lessons on Reston Association courts for a large park and recreation program. Communicating with class participants relative to tennis programs, court location, and weather as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be dynamic, motivated, and proactive.
- Teaches 17 & under junior tennis.
- Teaches adult groups and teams.
- Works with a team and must be a strong team player.
- Ability to work well with people of all ages and levels.
- Must be able to work evenings on weekdays 4:00PM - 9:00PM and weekends.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities; however may supervise interns and/or temporary or seasonal employees as required.

Education and Experience – Minimum of three years Tennis coaching/teaching experience.
Computer Skills - None.
Other Skills and Abilities – Experience working with higher level juniors but have the knowledge to build a player from beginner to advanced levels. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well with people of all ages and levels.
Other Qualifications - Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record. USPTA or PTR teaching certification required.

Employee follows established policies and procedures; formulates, interprets, or implement management policies or operating practices as required with regard to program operations and job responsibilities; exercises initiative, independent judgment and advanced coaching skills and represents the Association before public audiences as a spokesperson, or in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances with regard to program operations and job duties/tasks as required.

Contacts: Frequent contact with Association members and other visitors for the purpose of providing or exchanging information.
