Job Summary
We are currently seeking an experienced Estimating Project Manager to join our team. The Estimating Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the estimation process for mitigation projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing, and managing the overall cost control of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mitigation estimating and project management.
Duties
- Lead and manage the estimating work, by first receiving the calls from our customer, then inspecting the loss and preparing an estimate, including guidance and support throughout the estimation process
- Review loss details, project plans, specifications, and other documents (such as the S500/S520) to determine project requirements
- Utilize estimating software Xactimate to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with subcontractors as necessary to gather information for estimates
- Analyze project scope and develop detailed take-offs and material quantities
- Research and source pricing for materials, equipment, and labor
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and negotiate contracts with clients
- Monitor projects throughout the mitigation process, identifying areas of concern, scope issues, or cost overruns
- Collaborate with the operations manager and owner to ensure accurate estimating
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in mitigation costs
Requirements
- Proven experience in mitigation or reconstruction estimating, including knowledge of industry best practices
- Strong proficiency in Xactimate (required)
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to accurately calculate costs and quantities
- Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Solid understanding of project management principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret Xactimate estimates, specifications, and other technical documents
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
