Position Overview
As part of the Reentry team, the CalAIM Billing and Data Analyst supports the Reentry Resource Center/CalAIM Director in CalAIM billing and data analysis. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing member’s accounts, billing, and ensuring accurate and timely payment for services. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and commitment to Restorative Partners’ mission.
Roles & Responsibilities
Client Support and Case Management
- Understand the CenCal authorization processes and procedures
- Obtain referrals and authorizations on a daily basis
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims
- Generate and enter member's billing for services rendered
- Review member’s accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Follow up on outstanding claims and denials
- Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports as needed
- Sustain accurate and up-to-date records of member’s accounts and billing activities
- Prepare reports on account receivables, billing trends and payment collections
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines
- Maintain compliance with all applicable county, state and federal laws and regulations, funder and program requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of participant files per HIPAA and all applicable guidelines
Database
- Serve as lead administrator for RP’s internal database
- Work with department heads and program staff to ensure forms, profiles, tracking, and information are up to date
- Make back-end changes and updates to the database as needed
- Reviews data for accuracy. Follow-ups with responsible program staff on missing or incorrect information to ensure integrity of data
- Works with the Reentry Center Director in the Continuum of Care/HMIS Program
- Update and maintain RP’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
- Serve as main trainer for use of RP’s database
- Conduct regular staff initial and ongoing training for data entry
- Pull regular reports for grant reporting, donor engagement, general outreach, etc.
Community Outreach and Networking
- Build and conserve relationships with local healthcare providers, and government agencies to create a strong network
- Under the direction of the Reentry Resource Center Director may participate in community outreach and networking events, when appropriate
Administrative Duties
- Support tracking and reporting for CalAIM invoicing
- Complete documentation required for data reporting and outcome tracking
- Meet regularly with the Director and other members of the Reentry Programs & Services Team
- Perform administrative tasks including timely record keeping and data entry
- Maintain up to date, adequate records and other documentation necessary for the collection of data and statistics pertaining to program outcomes, demographics, and information as required by funders
Professional Development
- Attend required workshops, webinars, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge
- Participate in regular supervision

- Proven ability to prioritize and organize multi-faceted/multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast paced, changing environment while meeting deadlines and turnaround time requirements
- Must be able to work independently utilizing all resources available while staying within the boundaries of duties
- Ability to keep an elevated level of confidence and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters relating to providers, members, business plans, strategies and other sensitive information is required
- Must be ethical and possess the ability to remain impartial and objective

Essential Requirements
- Valid government-issued identification
- Current driver's license and reliable transportation
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, as verified by law enforcement administration or other designated agency
- Compliance with organizational Mandatory Vaccination Policy
- Experience working in the social service or criminal justice field (Preferred)
- Medical Billing (Preferred)
- Apricot Database (Preferred)
- Knowledge using Power BI (Preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management systems
