Temporary Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) – Pain Management (6-Month Contract, Potential for Permanent Role)
Location: Restorative Spine and Pain – Santa Maria & Templeton, CA
Start Date: February 2025
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility available)
Compensation: $70 – $85 per hour (based on experience)
Duration: 5-6 months (potential for permanent placement based on performance & the practice needs)
Restorative Spine and Pain is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a temporary 5-6 month role in our established interventional pain management practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP/PA with pain management, orthopedics, neurology, or musculoskeletal experience to work in a collaborative and patient-focused environment.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct patient evaluations and develop comprehensive pain management treatment plans
- Able to order and interpret diagnostic tests (imaging, NCV/EMG, diagnostic nerve blocks, labs if needed)
- Prescribe/manage medications and recommend interventional pain treatments
- Perform in-office procedures (joint injections, trigger point injections, Botox, ultrasound-guided injections) - Supervising physician is willing to guide and teach if needed.
- Educate patients on pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate with physician and other providers to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintain thorough documentation in Athena EMR
What We’re Looking For
- Licensed NP/PA in California (in good standing)
- DEA and furnishing license (or ability to obtain)
- 1 year of experience in pain management OR a related specialty (orthopedics, neurology, sports medicine, physical medicine & rehabilitation, primary care with pain patients)
- Spanish-speaking candidates would be a plus
- Familiarity with Athena EMR would be a plus

Valid and current California Controlled Substance registration number from the Department of Public Health
Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate
Valid and current Advanced Practice Nurse National certification
Valid and current basic life support (or higher) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification for Healthcare Providers
