Position
Restore Corps is searching for a talented and professional Community Outreach Coordinator to represent the company toward the goal of increasing identification of and prevention of commercial sexual exploitation of minors (CSEM). COC will work to develop and implement initiatives that assist the community to establish an understanding of human trafficking. The ideal team player must be self-motivated, an enthusiastic learner, a joyful communicator, and have experience cultivating donor/funder relationships.
Reporting to the Director of Community Engagement, the Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for increasing visibility in West TN specifically bringing awareness of human trafficking. COC will assist with the growth & cultivation of strategic partnerships in the community, especially pertaining to education & prevention training. The Community Outreach
Coordinator will facilitate educational seminars, participate on panels, & provide internal & external training on Restore Corps Human Trafficking Curriculum. She/he will initially develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, brand & voice, operations, & business plans.
Responsibilities
Maintain a calendar of community-based programs and activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.
Conduct educational workshops on various topics that will assist the community to establish an understanding of human trafficking
Develop and enhance evidence-based and evidence-informed, community-based programs and activities designed to strengthen and support children and youth who have experienced human trafficking that are accessible, effective, and culturally appropriate, and built upon existing strengths.
Develop partnerships to assist in the implementation of support group Life Skills & youth groups.
Assist in the preparation of an annual budget for community outreach activities.
Assist Director of Community Engagement to nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners.
Assist with volunteer recruitment
Assist in the organization of special events, including fundraisers, specific outreach opportunities to provide comprehensive support for children, youth and families who are high-risk of becoming trafficked or displaying high-risk behaviors.
Assist with enhancing & creating opportunities for multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services for children, youth, and their families.
Applicant will stay informed in specialized services & resources that meet the needs unique to the trafficked child/youth and family & Identify instances to educate young parents and parents with very young children on parenting skills.
Assist in the cultivation and development of proposals.
Additional duties as assigned.
Community Engagement & Events:
- Support the coordination of monthly prostitution diversion course, communicating with all community collaborators, & engaging with district attorney’s office & local law enforcement to bolster visibility & effectiveness of the course
- Respond to all requests from community partners for ministry fairs & community engagement events, hosting interest tables, recruiting volunteers, & engaging with potential & existing community partners
- Create engaging reports, presentations, & informational materials catering to specific audience engagement, including youth, faith-based organizations, health-care providers, law enforcement, service providers, board members, volunteers, staff and more
- Create & facilitate a community-wide engagement & awareness event campaign bolstering organization & local human trafficking increase visibility during Human Trafficking Awareness Month
Administration & Executive Support:
- Ensure all-training content is consistent with TCTA (Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance) standardized terminology, is holistically communicated, & includes honoring language & content concerning all survivors of commercial exploitation
- Maintain concise data organization, tracking quality of trainings, pre & post assessments
- Organize & track community engagement & event calendars, & provide support to leadership for requested speaking engagements.
- Maintain current & in-depth knowledge of human trafficking trends, including national & local events, as well as past & present TN law & legislative efforts
- Participate in at least one national conference, & travel with in-state for awareness & visibility, especially but not limited to the 21 counties of West TN.
- Assist with any special projects as directed by the Director of Community Engagement
- Attend all-team staff meetings & maintain familiarity & engagement with Restore Corps’ client base
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Social Work or other related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in community engagement or prevention education
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal relationship abilities
- Open minded & creative
- Must also be able to work independently as well as in group settings
- Excellent, proven managerial & organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand & articulate best practices around services for at-risk individuals & families
- Demonstrated ability to work with underserved populations & to educate community stakeholders on systemic injustice
- Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, & Google Suite
- Experience with Adobe Suite, & Canva a plus
- People-oriented with demonstrated ability to build rapport & gain trust with diverse populations
- Ability & willingness to work irregular hours when training needs dictate.
- Fast learner, quick mind, capacity for hard work.
- Valid driver’s license, state-required driver’s insurance & access to reliable personal transportation; ability to travel throughout West Tennessee
- Sense of humor
Initial & subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy.
A background check is required.

Hours and Pay
COC must possess an ability and willingness to work evenings & weekend hours, as training requests dictate.

This is a full-time position starting at $42,000/year plus benefits. Will include mileage reimbursement for travel outside Shelby County. Full-time package will also include: paid time off, offer for health insurance coverage, & 401K match after 1 year.
