Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team at a Restored Hope Recovery, a brand new opening Residential Behavioral Health Facility specializing in Addiction Recovery. We currently have a full time days opening doing three 12 hour shifts and a PRN as needed position open for days and nights. The shifts are 7A-7P. The Behavior Technician will work with individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders. The Behavioral Technician will serve as a role model, mentor, advocate and motivator to recovering individuals in a small 8-10 bed house preventing relapse and promoting long term recovery. The Behavioral Health Tech must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer to peer relationships while maintaining boundaries.
Duties
- Implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Professional (BHP)
- Collect data on client behavior and progress
- Assist clients with activities of daily living
- Conduct crisis interventions when necessary
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
- Provide addiction counseling support as needed in group or individual basis
- Monitor vital signs and medical conditions as required
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Support clients in developing essential life skills
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with Addiction Recovery is preferred
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology and data collection methods
- Ability to perform crisis intervention effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with clients and their families
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
1. Qualify as a Restored Hope Recovery BHT;
a. A high school diploma, and two years full time in the field, or
b. A high school equivalency diploma, and two years full time in the field, or
c. An associate's degree (18 credit hours specific to BH), and 1.5 years full time in the BH field, or
d. A College Degree and 1-year full time in the field, or
e. A Master’s degree and 6 Months full time in the field.
- Individual must have an understanding of and respect for each individual’s unique path to recovery.
- Candidate must be in recovery from substance use and/or co-occurring disorders for a minimum of one year
- Person must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and a demonstrated commitment to the recovery community.
- Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist from AHCCCS Approved Trainer.
6. Training of use of Narcan, naloxone, and generic brands of opioid reversal nasal spray
7. Valid CPR / First Aid Certification
8. Evidence of Freedom of Tuberculosis with 2 step test.
Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (Standard or Higher)
