Job Summary
The Traditional Worship Leader is the church’s worship leader at the Lee's Summit Location. As a member of the Traditional Worship team, consisting of Traditional Worship Leaders from different locations, this individual will work collaboratively to select music for worship at the Lee's Summit location, as well as lead the congregation in song. This individual must have excellent vocal skills as well as the ability to self-accompany. As a member of the Worship Team, the Traditional Worship Leader partners with the Location Pastor to provide excellent worship that engages everybody in attendance. They will help the Location Pastor in the weekly worship planning process, as well as engage with every other aspect of the location’s ministry by working collaboratively with a diverse team of ministry leaders.

Position-Specific
- Directly oversee the detailed planning, preparation, and execution of traditional worship music. This includes all of weekend worship; special events; and religious holidays such as Christmas Eve and Easter. Ensure the highest levels of excellence in the musical offerings.
- Assist in the planning of worship with location pastor and worship team members.
- Provide leadership for traditional worship services, rehearsals and other events, as needed.
- Provide spiritual leadership, looking for opportunities to minister to and disciple and encourage others to grow in Christ.
- Recruit, manage, motivate, and equip volunteers.
- Coordinate logistics including set up and tear down for rehearsals and weekend worship service needs.
- Manage all musical instrument and equipment repair, maintenance, replacement and security.
- Willingness to engage with outside musicians, artists and ensembles in other venues to bring artistic expression into the life of the church. Other duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Advanced musical skills in both piano and vocal performance, as well as the ability to lead worship while self-accompanying from chosen instrument.
- Knowledge of traditional worship music, hymns, and anthems appropriate for a worship setting.
- Able to relate to and lead a multi-generational congregation in worship

Qualifications
- Musical knowledge and skill (music degree desired but not required)
- Proven Results in: Vocal and Piano performance; leading or working with small ensembles; knowledge of worship music, hymns, and arrangements appropriate for a worship setting; ability to relate to and lead a multi-generational congregation in traditional worship; and proficiency in Mac & PC platforms and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in Pro Presenter and Planning Center is preferred.
