What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA/QC Specialist position at Rethink Electric?
Title of Position: QA/QC Specialist Job Description: The QA/QC Specialist will not only provide quality inspections and field service support for Rethink Electric, but will also conduct commissioning and other electrical work. The candidate will cover and oversee multiple projects sites. Will have the ability to travel from site to site in their area of operation and surrounding regions. The QA/QC Specialist may also be called to perform site MC walks, back feed, and witness test support as directed by the Director of Quality and Process Improvement. Responsibilities: Ensure all electrical components/systems have been completely and properly installed, based upon the design and document performance. Performs commissioning of all equipment on sites prior to mechanical completion. Conducts field milestone inspections and site visits Identify and document faults, non-conforming construction, specification deviations, and safety violations. Interpret and enforce, drawing and manufacturer’s specifications requirements. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled field maintenance if required. Work with Project Management and site supervision daily (Superintendent or CM). Works closely with the company's O&M department to ensure all equipment is commissioned and operating properly. Performs site safety procedures and understands Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) protocol. Understands and interprets the National Electrical Code (2005-2023). Travel between office, home, and job sites. Qualifications: 5 years of experience or equivalent in work and internship experience and education. Previous commissioning experience within the electrical field. Familiarity with DG and utility scale PV and storage, preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Understanding of quality control methods and procedures. Electrical and PV related troubleshooting skills and expertise. Understanding of medium voltage systems and equipment is a plus. Thorough understanding of photovoltaic principles, AC and DC electrical characteristics (e.g., power, energy, voltage, amperage, phase, power factor). Knowledge of Ethernet, cellular, fiber communication. Handy with testing equipment and tool. Ability to manage multitasks when required. Who and what (and why) is Rethink Electric?
