The position of Human Resources Generalist– is hourly, Full-time, and benefited, working Monday-Friday at our Administrative Office in Vancouver. The Human Resources Generalist overview - will perform moderately complex functions, including employee relations, compensation review, performance management, conflict management, payroll, benefits, leave of absence, staff training, annual compliance, enforcing company policies & procedures, and special projects. Assists with sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various roles in our clinical and support departments. Collaborate with hiring managers to understand the hiring needs and provide a positive candidate experience. Process payroll for all staff and physicians accurately and timely, maintaining applicable reports and deduction follow-through to appropriate agencies. Essential functions include: Serves as contact for employees and managers and answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures, benefits and other related programs; Provides guidance on strategic and HR operational issues to the Board / management and recommends or develops new programs and employee initiatives; Partners with Administration & leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning; Updates compensation wage ranges for each position based on current market wage ranges; presenting to the board annually or as requested; Ensures the development of both administrative and clinical plans, goals, mission, policies/procedures, and projected budget; Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance; Develops/implements HR plan for practice including recruitment, selection, promotion, orientation, compensation administration, labor relations in collaboration with management team. Educate/advise administrative and clinical managers on personnel issues including up to termination and disputes; Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations; Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees; Serves as a member of the Executive Committee; Maintains and monitors records of workers compensation, EEO, ADA, FMLA, OFLA, WA & OR Paid Leave, unemployment and other employee claims. Reviews exit interview data; Maintains the HRIS system for time, attendance, and payroll functions; In conjunction with the Practice Manager and vendors, manages the benefits options and employee elections through the Open Enrollment process; Collects, maintains, and verifies paperwork necessary to maintain compliant employee personnel files; Provides a safe work environment that is free from discrimination, practices open-door policy to allow for employees to discuss concerns/grievances. Facilitates employee –manager discussion /mediations. Ensures employee assistance is made available for emergency relief as well as a preventative process; Recognizes that a company’s most valuable assets are its employees; Recommends and facilitates employee recognition efforts and events, encourages morale in line with company goals and metrics;


Additional responsibilities: Advises the Board/management on performance concerns, employee relations, discipline, and compensation issues; Participates in development and implementation of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures and departmental goals and objectives; Assists in the new hire process, participating in new employee orientation sessions, providing benefit information and collecting and verifying necessary paperwork to maintain personnel file; Manages termination process to include conducting exit interviews, coordination of paperwork and educating employees regarding portability and cessation of benefits; Creates, tracks and maintains personnel files by filing updated paperwork; Processes status changes for updates needed within HRIS; Participates in development and implementation of Human Resources policies, programs, and procedures and departmental goals and objectives; Administers and maintains leaves and short-term disability process for assigned location(s); Coordinates annual benefits open enrollment process to include participating in status meetings, employee communication, and completion tracking; Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations governing employment practices; Pursues continued education opportunities to maintain and increase knowledge of Human Resources laws, trends; Assists with recruiting, i.e. job postings, employment screenings, and references; Maintains employee appraisal system to provide direction, enhance workforce capabilities and identify training needs; Assists with employee scheduling and staffing shortfalls; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and other related systems.

Education: Degree in Human Resources, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3-6 years relevant work experience in all aspects of Human Resources required for this position. Prior experience in medical office human resources preferred.
