Director of Human Resources

Position Overview

The Director of Human Resources provides senior level leadership and strategic vision to the HR operations of RetireMed. This role oversees department workflow, ensuring the development and implementation of legally compliant policies, procedures, and best practices while driving long-term organizational goals. The HR Director collaborates with top executives to align HR strategies with business objectives, fostering a culture of engagement, innovation, and performance excellence. This position could work out of either the Cincinnati/Blue Ash office or our Dayton/Miamisburg office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive team to develop and execute HR strategies that support the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term goals.
  • Lead the HR department in workforce planning, talent acquisition, succession planning, and retention initiatives to support current and future business needs.
  • Design, implement, and oversee HR policies, programs, and best practices related to:
    • Compensation, benefits, and leave administration
    • Performance management, leadership development, and career progression
    • Employee engagement, recognition, and workplace culture
    • Training, professional development, and organizational learning
    • Workplace safety, compliance, and risk management
    • Conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and proactively adjust policies to align with legal and regulatory changes.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure HR effectiveness and align strategies with market competitiveness.
  • Develop and oversee comprehensive compensation, benefits, and incentive programs to attract and retain top talent.
  • Lead change management initiatives to enhance organizational agility and drive continuous improvement in HR operations.
  • Develop and manage the HR department’s budget, optimizing resources to maximize impact.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and innovation within HR and across the organization.
  • Represent the organization at professional networking events, industry conferences, and leadership forums.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience in organizational development, change management, and strategic planning.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other relevant HR certification preferred.
