Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Product Development Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various aspects of product development and production processes, including maintaining libraries of materials and hardware, ensuring fabric and trim quality and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in new style review meetings to familiarize oneself with upcoming product lines and determine special packaging needs.
- BOM maintenance
- Maintain the color library to ensure consistency and accuracy in color references across all products and materials.
- Manage inventory levels and upkeep of hardware and trim libraries.
- Track and document all invoices and product costing to ensure accuracy and completeness in relevant systems.
- Thorough tracking of incoming samples and precise distribution to proper allocated channels.
- Assist with bulk material tracking and approvals, including filing submissions and ensuring compliance with quality and sourcing standards.
- Assists the team to facilitate day-to-day communication with the vendors.
- Data entry support in various Excel Charts.
- Collaborate with design, tech design, and production teams to facilitate communication and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Fashion Production, Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration).
- Prior experience in product development, production coordination, fabric or a related role preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency and familiarity with relevant software applications (e.g., PLM systems) is a plus.
