Product Development Assistant The Product Development Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the product development, production, and technical design teams. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production departments director as well as the Design and Sales team to ensure the smooth execution of all stages of product development, from concept to final production. Execute the development / production calendar Partner with design / merchandising to lead the development of new collections and new product ideas Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new collections Collaborate with the design team to ensure accurate and timely execution of designs, taking into consideration feasibility, cost, and quality. Support the technical design team in creating technical packages, including tech packs, spec sheets, and measurement charts. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials, trims, and embellishments, ensuring timely delivery and quality control. Conduct regular fit sessions and assist in resolving any fit or construction issues, working closely with the technical design and production teams. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all product development activities, including sample tracking, approvals, and revisions. Provide general administrative support, such as organizing samples and preparing presentation materials. Maintain relationships at all levels; externally with agent / vendors overseas and internally with cross functional teams Partner cross functionally with Design, Product Development, Marketing, Sales, and Planning Teams to ensure all approvals are in place for on-time delivery Monitor the time & action calendar to meet key milestones Track and follow up with cross functional teams on pre-production activities Request and track all Fabric submits, counters for quality, lab dips, shade bands, hand looms, strike-offs, and bulk fabric Arrange Proto, SMS,PP and TOP sample requirements for internal teams as well as corporate / retailer Identify and raise quality and technical issues with overseas agents / vendors Track materials, trims, and packaging to be in-factory in time to meet factory’s development / production schedule Monitor WIP output and propose solutions for low productivity if needed Assist in the product development process, including research, concept development, and sample tracking Follow up on delivery schedule and communicate to cross functional teams delivery extensions when necessary SKILLS / SYSTEMS 2-3 years of prior relevant experience in product development, production, or technical design within the fashion industry. Embraces a fast-paced working environment Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong attention to detail and quality Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent verbal & written communication, presentation, time management, detail-oriented, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, and production / manufacturing process flow. Proficiency in using design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office including Excel / Google Sheets. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and vendors. A passion for fashion and a keen eye for quality and aesthetics. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
