What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Body Painter position at REV AUTO BODY & RESTORATIONS, INC.?
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Body Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for restoring vehicles to their original beauty. You will be responsible for all aspects of the refinishing process, maintaining accurate material records, and maintaining all the refinishing equipment provided by the shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Refinish all assigned vehicles to pre-accident condition according to the written work-order while ensuring all required procedures are documented and accounted for.
- Prepare color tint to match paint color, mix paint colors, and ensure all formulations, preparations, top coating, and curing meet all OEM and paint manufacturers requirements.
- Follow all paint manufacturer and shop guidelines.
- Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed, and painted panels are buffed and free of imperfections.
- Adhere to all regulatory compliance guidelines for hazardous waste disposal, municipal codes, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and organized work area and equipment.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge sufficient to properly complete painting assignments.
- Responsible for cleaning, sanding, and applying chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting.
- Plan efficient work procedures using technical manuals and knowledge of surface preparations and painting techniques, arranging to obtain timely delivery of paint and necessary materials.
- Able to do physical activity, including but not limited to bending, squatting, and the ability to lift over 50lbs.
Qualifications
- I-CAR Gold Certification required; Platinum preferred
- High school diploma or vocational certificate preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Proven experience as an Automotive Painter
- Strong knowledge of automotive painting techniques and materials
- Attention to detail and a high level of precision
- Ability to work independently and a part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good judgement and critical thinking skills
- Experience spraying Axalta waterborne products preferred. Training provided for otherwise qualified applicants
