A Payroll Accounting Analyst is needed for a contract opening with our New York, NY client.
- Location/TimeZone (On-site/hybrid): ET 8:30-5:30pm (once trained) or 9-6, 9:30-6:30. Must be okay with being in office twice a week (not optional).
- Hours: 40 hrs week overtime at month end or 1st week of month for reporting deadlines
TOP Critical Skills:
- Advanced in Excel with demonstrated ease of use in pivot tables, formulas, Finance formatting, combining data from multiple sources.
- Comfort working with an ERP system; extracting data and downloading reports
- Understanding payroll results; willing to train on Union specifics
- Organized and mindful of deadlines
- Good written communications to work with outside Union vendors
- Nice to Have: Union experience within Payroll reporting
- Develop, prepare, and analyze Excel-based reports from SAP ECP extracts, focusing on enhancing ECP reporting accuracy for union payments, contributions, and payroll GL reconciliations.
- Prepare and support weekly and monthly reporting for Division Accounting Departments, utilizing Excel for comprehensive data analysis and report creation.
- Generate ad hoc reports based on SAP ECP extracts to support the payroll, union and Finance team.
- Support data verification and troubleshoot errors of payroll earnings and dues for employees and employer contributions.
- Research and complete external Union or Union Pension/Health Plan requests for employee information or verification of payments processed.
- Reconcile weekly union interface files and validate accuracy with completed union payment processes, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Provide support for union audit data requests related to pension, health, or 401k employer contributions.
- Monthly reconciliation of Union payroll balance sheet accounts.
- Support calculation of adjustments for union-related deductions and contributions on ad hoc basis.
- Collaborate on special projects and assist with reporting initiatives to improve the accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including demonstrated ease of use in pivot tables, formulas, finance formatting and combining data sheets from multiple sources.
- Familiar with SAP EC Payroll desired or with a large-scale ERP desired
- At least one to two years of experience in payroll reporting, analysis
- Experience in interpreting payroll results desired.
- Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Comfort with working in Zoom, Teams, and ability to train or review work in them.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; Proactive with excellent follow-up skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines.
