CNC Service Engineer

JOB TITLE : CNC Field Service Engineer

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Service Manager

TRAVEL : Required up to 100%

WORK SUMMARY :

This position involves servicing repairing and operating a wide variety of CNC machine tools. Responsibilities include using precision test equipment to analyze troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues. The role requires advanced operation of CNC controls from various manufacturers and overseeing the successful installation of machine tools. Interaction with customers vendors OEMs and internal personnel is essential. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage service calls assist fellow service engineers and maintenance technicians and if applicable perform general sing and fitting of machine tool components. Troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuitry to the component level is a key aspect of this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Dismantle and prepare machines for shipment
• Perform machine leveling and alignment
• Diagnose and repair major machine tool issues
• Disassemble repair and rebuild machine tool assemblies and subassemblies
• Organize tag and mark components for reassembly
• Identify repair or replace damaged components
• Power up and troubleshoot machines for the first time
• Perform servo system tuning
• Accurately report activities and expenses in a timely manner
• Provide training for employees and customers on CNC control system operation
• Troubleshoot and repair advanced electronic circuitry
• Maintain communication with customers vendors OEMs and internal teams
• Keep work area neat clean and organized
• Travel frequently often on short notice
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Perform other duties as assigned
