CNC Service Engineer

Position Overview:

The Service Engineer provides expert-level maintenance, installation, and repair of CNC machine tools at customer sites and via remote support. Ideal candidates will possess excellent technical capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to outstanding customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform installation, routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of CNC machine tools.
  

• Document technical information clearly and accurately, updating service records consistently.
  

• Prepare, generate, and analyze service reports, including ongoing documentation and special requests.
  

• Collaborate effectively with customers’ service engineers, providing guidance, assistance, and training on newer product lines.
  

• Maintain exceptional communication and customer service standards, proactively building strong relationships with customers.
  

• Handle challenging customer situations professionally and positively, ensuring prompt issue resolution and collecting feedback to improve services.
  

• Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of CNC machine tools.
  

• Familiarity with DMG MORI machines and Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or Siemens controls strongly preferred.
  

• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.
  

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  

• Adaptability to frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and unexpected situations.
  

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% throughout a multi-state region, via car or air travel. Employees are expected to report to the Technical Center when not at customer locations.
