Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to lead the design, programming, and integration of automated equipment for high-volume manufacturing. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, PLC programming expertise, and a passion for automation. You’ll work cross-functionally to bring control systems from concept to production, ensuring seamless integration into the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, program, and implement PLC and HMI control systems for new manufacturing equipment.
Lead the controls portion of equipment development from concept through deployment (including PO release, FAT, SAT, and ramp-up).
Define control system architecture, safety integration, and redundancy plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering.
Conduct controls-related risk assessments (e.g., PFMEA) and develop validation and commissioning plans.
Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for performance, safety, and reliability.
Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including electrical schematics, ladder logic, functional descriptions, and timing charts.
Support installation, commissioning, and facility integration of new equipment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
3–4 years of hands-on experience in controls engineering or industrial automation.
Strong experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff preferred).
Proficient in HMI/SCADA design and implementation.
Working knowledge of safety systems including LOTO, machine guarding, and light curtains.
CAD and electrical schematic design experience (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
Familiarity with MES and database systems; Python and MySQL experience is a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for equipment integration and support.
