Job Summary:
The HR Payroll Administrator will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s payroll department. They will support all tasks relating to payroll processing such as reviewing employees' time sheets and payroll data, calculating wages, taxes, reporting, and preparing payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Enter information into the payroll system regarding employee changes, including transfers, terminations, and resignations as details change.
- Organize and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Liaise with external partners, such as HRIS, 401(k) and insurance vendors, to ensure legal compliance.
- Review the accuracy of timesheets submitted by each Pharmacy every pay period and contact supervisors or managers when there is a discrepancy.
- Assist with payroll functions including biweekly processing, answering employee questions, and correcting processing errors.
- Research and set up new tax jurisdictions in HRIS. Follow up on any required tax issues.
- Calculate and process termination payments to ensure legal compliance.
- Participate in human resources due diligence projects for new pharmacies; support new pharmacy implementation.
- Supports with benefit bill reconciliation.
- Produce ad hoc reports as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources or other business-related discipline.
- 2 years of experience working in a payroll/human resources office.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. ADPWFN experience preferred.
- Experience with multi-state payroll requirements, including familiarity with taxes.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations, labor laws, federal, state, and local taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Physical Requirements
- Proficient in using a computer and related equipment; able to use for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills via telephone and email.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds as needed.
