We are looking for a skilled Export Specialist to join the International Trade Operations team. This role involves managing export activities and maintaining records to ensure compliance with U.S. export laws and regulations.
This position reports to the Director, ITO Customs & Import Operations and is located in one of our Corporate Offices: Providence, RI | Virginia Beach, VA | Rantoul, IL | Anoka, MN | Bozeman, MT | Logan, UT | Stockton or Irvine, CA
As the Export Specialist, you will have an opportunity to:
- Develop and manage the export compliance program for Outdoor Products.
- Provide expert advice and guidance concerning the requirements and obligations for the export of defense articles, technical data and defense services under the International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) and dual use items under the Export Administrations Regulations (EAR).
- Stay informed of current U.S. export regulations, procedures, laws, and policies.
- Determine jurisdiction and classification of products, and services under the USML, CCL and Schedule B
- Research for and submission of commodity jurisdictions and advisory opinions.
- Review employee international travel, advising on restrictions and export authorizations.
- Serve as an Empowered Official preparing, submitting, and managing export licenses for the Departments of Commerce and State, determining requirements and eligibility for use of exemptions and exceptions. Engage with licensing officers from the Departments of State and Commerce.
- Conduct and participate in internal audits and assessments, and support external audits and assessments.
- Identify potential instances of non-compliance and report such to International Regulatory Affairs and Compliance.
- Assist with the development and submission of voluntary disclosures (as needed) and implement, monitor, and review corrective actions.
- Support diligence screenings of third parties utilizing NAVEX.
- Coordinate with and support the International Logistics team with EEI filings on direct and routed transactions.
- Manage and maintain necessary export reports, in accordance with U.S. Government regulations.
- Conduct periodic training to increase employee engagement with and awareness of export requirements and compliance.
You have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of DTRADE, SNAP-R
- Auditing, training, developing, and implementing policies and procedures.
- Serving as an Empowered Official writing, signing, and submitting licenses
- Knowledge of sanctioned and embargoed countries / persons.
- Knowledge of import regulations preferred.
- Excellent excel skills.
- Excellent communication (written, spoken, interpersonal) skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, build credibility and trust across all levels of an organization.
