POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: 

This position is responsible for performing skilled electrical work in the design, layout, assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control panels and wiring used in electrical systems. As the Electrical Technician II, you will demonstrate a level of mechanical aptitude, understand work orders, schematics, and follow production drawings, guidelines, and other instructions. This position works with other departments in problem-solving solutions as it relates to the assembly process and the functioning of panels and components. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and orderly work area. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

·         Read and interpret detailed drawings or schematics to mount and connect electrical panel components including switches, pilot lights, surge suppressors, circuit breakers, relays, VFDs, PLC hardware.

·         Work with engineering to ensure product quality.

·         Work with shipping and receiving to ensure the availability of proper parts; assist in shipping to ensure proper and timely shipping of goods.

·         Install and shape conduit using mechanical or hydraulic conduit benders.

·         Label and terminate wires or cables to electrical components and terminals.

·         Maintain safety practices and procedures.

·         Ensure equipment is in proper working order.

·         Keep management informed about the reliability of tools and equipment.

·         Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  

·         Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.

·         Minimum 1-2 years experience.

·         Self-executes projects on time and on budget 90% of the time with less than 5% rework.

·         Has knowledge of UL Standards and Revere's quality and compliance standards and ensures projects are meeting those standards.

·         Ability to lead and assume accountability for group projects.

·         Working knowledge of drafting, electrical system layout, blueprint reading, and mathematics; working knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in electrical system installation and maintenance work.

·         Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

·         Considerable knowledge of the principles of electrical theory as applied to electrical circuits and wiring systems and ability to apply this knowledge to work situations.

·         Ability to independently solve basic schematic issues.

·         Skill in operation of the listed tools and equipment; skill in reading blueprints and specifications.

·         Ability to follow proper methods, procedures, and safety precautions of line work; ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. 

·        The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.

·       The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

·       Field trips with service personnel may include work environments that vary in different industrial situations.

·         Work is performed mostly in indoor settings. Some outdoor work may be required.

·         Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate tools, calculating instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment.

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and to reach with hands and arms.

·         The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.

·         The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

·         Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.

·       Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations.

·        Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex problems.

·         Ability to perform under stress and/or in emergencies.

·        Ability to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines, or productivity quotas. 

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:  

This is a full-time position, and standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break. Overtime may be required to keep up with increased customer demands and remain on schedule. All overtime must have prior supervisor approval.
