Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Intake Coordinator to play a vital role for our mobile wound care company. This position is responsible for welcoming patients, gathering essential information and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient intake process. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· As the first point of contact, answer calls from patients and referrals.
· Process intake by managing all referrals to determine eligibility, communicate with referral partners and providing updates and visit notes.
·Communicate with patients and their families, obtain medical history and insurance information and verification. Ensure patient information is entered into and updated regularly in the EMR and scheduling systems. Perform data entry tasks as needed.
·Communicate and work with Scheduling team for a streamlined patient intake process and ensure timely and efficient flow of patient information.
·Manage all incoming and outgoing referrals.
·Adhere to all applicate federal, state and local regulations as well as company’s policies and procedures.
·Work effectively with other healthcare professionals, and staff members.
·Perform other duties as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
·High school diploma or equivalent
·Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient intake or admissions.
·Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, and HIPPA guidelines.
·Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
·Excellent organizational skills.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
·Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work responsibilities.
Hours:
Monday - Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
