Textile Artist

This position is responsible for increasing Design output and decreasing expenditures of outsourcing Design development and service work.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for attending weekly Design Calendar Priority meeting to review needs of merchandising team, if applicable 
• Responsible for working with designers, sales and merchandising to broaden the reach of each assigned brand, as well as incorporating new colors and designs to keep collections varied and on trend, if applicable 
• Responsible for entering artwork and colorway information into the PLM system.  Ensuring data is accurately inputted and updated for all developed artwork 
• Develop artwork needs for Revman brands as directed (concepts, layouts, repeats, colorings, coordinates, pillows etc.) suitable for presentation to customers and/or development packets to send to vendors 
• Assist in creating all seasonal color palettes for each brand, if applicable 
• Maintain continuous workflow and troubleshoot any problems that could potentially result in system downtime 
• Responsible for completion of all assigned tasks on time  

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Design or Design related discipline (Textiles, Graphics, Product Development, Home Fashions, Apparel Fashions, etc.) or equivalent work experience
• Three to five years of experience in a CAD studio
• Possess excellent working knowledge and proficiency in NedGraphics software as well as Photoshop and Illustrator
• Background in color and design from college and/or work experience
• Excellent color and design sense
• Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress
• Possess a team oriented mentality with the ability to work with many different designers and brands
• Good communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
• Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
• Previous experience in successfully handling time sensitive projects and meeting assigned deadlines
• Ability to prioritize work/projects and answer questions related to work assignments in a fast paced environment
• Ability to problem solve as needed
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on a daily basis
• Ability to handle confidential information
