Accounting and Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations, ensure accuracy in bookkeeping, and manage the company’s budget effectively.
Position Summary The Accounting and Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate accounting practices, financial reporting, and budget management. This role is essential to supporting the company’s strategic goals, managing cash flow, and ensuring financial health. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a proactive approach to process improvement and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee and manage the company’s accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, monitor variances, and prepare regular financial forecasts to guide decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to leadership.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Manage audits and oversee tax filings.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Policy Development: Establish and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Systems Oversight: Manage financial software and systems to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial data.
- Team Leadership: Collaborate with administrative staff and department leads to provide financial insights and training as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
- Must have bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with task management software such as Monday.com preferred.
- Experience in the event production industry or a creative business is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex financial information in a clear, actionable way.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and implement new systems and tools effectively.
