What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Network Analyst position at Revolution Technologies?
The Network Analyst is responsible for the configuration, installation, monitoring and support of network systems, as well as Local Area Networks {LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), network segments, VoIP, Wireless Access System, network performance and Internet connectivity. The Network Administrator also maintains network hardware and software, analyzes problems, and monitors networks to ensure their availability to system users. The Network Analyst is also responsible for gathering data to identify customer needs and apply that data in identifying, interpreting, and evaluating system, and network requirements as well as coordinating and implementing network security measures. The Network Analyst will also provide customer support, maintenance, and administration to the department's network team. This position must meet all the requirements of Network Analyst as well as specific detailed functions explained below for the department.
The ideal candidate is likely to have worked within the industry with a robust background in maintenance and monitoring of IT network systems. The candidate will be added to an existing IT team and will interact with on a daily basis. This position interacts with all IT functional areas (e.g., Helpdesk/Desktop support, server application integration and support). The candidate will be someone who can troubleshoot technology related problems that might include, troubleshooting intermittent packet loss, latency issues, trading system connectivity and equipment failure. The successful candidate must be highly self-motivated, excel at multitasking, and comfortable working in a demanding, state of the art healthcare environment.
This person will use available network management support tools to provide network statistics to the Network Support Team manager. This position will also schedule/coordinate any network downtime with the Help Desk and broadcast appropriate messages to the users preparing them for the downtime. They will also function as a level II/III backup to the Network Analyst I team members and support them to bring the network related service calls to closure. This team-oriented person will work and support all members of the group.
Typical Duties (In order of importance)
1. Maintain and adhere to best practices and standard methodologies, as well as review existing network for continually improvement and upgrade.
2. Hands-Ons knowledge of SolarWinds, and Cisco devices and to troubleshoot Layer 2/3 physical and virtual LAN/WAN/Campus/Datacenter networks.
3. Administrator for DHCP servers and responsible for VLAN scopes and static IP log.
4. Work with other Network Support Team members across WAN groups in problem resolution.
5. Support on-call level II/III escalation support incidents as required
6. Provide escalation support to the other Network Analyst positions.
7. Administrator DHCP, VLAN, and static IP addresses.
8. Contributes significantly to the support and the success of the organization by providing the technical expertise and ability to determine, deliver and maintain appropriately functional and scalable technologies and platforms necessary to support the organization’s growth and development
9. Work with the Help Desk to coordinate any required network downtime.
10. Working knowledge of WLAN technologies
11. Ability to setting up monitoring and responding to network alerts
12. Provide tier II/III network support for tickets to the Helpdesk
13. Attend and participate in the weekly Network Support Team meetings and provide monthly usage reports.
14. Any other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
1. Bachelor's degree (in Information Technology, CS, MIS, Business, or related field)
2. Cisco certification in LAN management (Cisco Certified Network Associate and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional certification preferred)
