The Engineering Team Lead is a hands-on supervisory role that balances technical expertise, project management, and team leadership. Leading a team of front-end and back-end developers, this role requires both detailed problem-solving and strategic oversight to deliver high-quality software solutions. By collaborating closely with product, QA, and SRE/DevOps teams, the Engineering Team Lead ensures technical excellence while driving the successful execution of engineering initiatives that align with business objectives.
This is a hybrid position that requires in office presence 2-3 days a week in Chicago

- Develop a deep understanding of both the business domain and technical landscape.
- Contribute directly to feature development and defect resolution.
- Guide the technical and architectural direction of projects.
- Champion and enforce industry and company-wide development best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on development in relevant technologies.
- 2 years in a leadership or team lead role, mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in back-end development technologies, with emphasis on Scala and functional programming methodologies.
- Experience working with front-end technologies including TypeScript and React.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices.
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and scalable architectures.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers, fostering professional growth and team cohesion.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in Agile methodologies.
- Ability to align engineering efforts with business objectives and drive results.
- Experience in facilitating cross-functional collaboration with product, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
- This is a full-time, exempt position and the base compensation for this opening in Chicago is expected to be $175,000-$195,000 annualized, depending on level, candidate experience, skills, and other factors. This position will be eligible for an annual bonus program with a target of 15% base annualized salary, for a total compensation of $201,250-$224,250.

Salary : $175,000 - $224,250
