Job Type: Full Time 6am-6pm 2-week rotating day shift. Weekends and Holidays Included

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Monitor gates and other activities on the Company’s premises to ensure the environment is safe and secure. Direct all visitors, outside carriers and contractors to the appropriate location notifying staff of the arrivals. Maintain gates and fence lines clean, and free of trash, debris, and waste.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet all employees and visitors with a positive professional attitude
• Direct and document ALL visitors that come on to the company’s premises.
• Monitor traffic flow of flatbed and logging trucks.
• Monitor traffic flow through the fuel station
• Monitor tarping station to ensure all safety rules are being followed.
• Monitor cameras and report any unusual/unsafe activity.
• Scale out trucks as needed.
• Answer telephone and direct applications to the front office
• Understand basic components and operation.
• Clean work area and surrounding areas disposing of stray trash, debris, and waste.
• Must be able to use a shovel properly.
• Empty trash containers as required.
• Participate in action planning process.
• All other duties assigned by supervisor.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess adequate fitness and stamina in order to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Must be able to work overtime.
• Understand and follow oral or written instructions issued by supervisors.
• Able to clearly explain problems or give instructions to others involved in keeping operations running smoothly.
• Able to perform the job with limited supervision.
• Arrive on time and stay on task in order to contribute to better output and reaching production goals.
• Able to work well in an industrial environment, and as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to work a 12 hour shift.
• Perform tasks such as walking, climbing, sitting, or standing for long periods of time.
• Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Must be comfortable working around loud equipment.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Able to work while in a harness at heights over 4 feet.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. throughout work shift.

SAFETY

• Follow all area/machine center specific safety regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment, i.e., hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and reflective wear.
• Do not enter restricted areas.
• Report immediately to your supervisor or any available supervisor any piece of equipment that is unsafe or functioning improperly to eliminate unsafe conditions.
• Request assistance when a task exceeds individual knowledge.
• Visually inspect equipment and area before starting/operating.
• Use Standard Lockout Procedures when appropriate for machine centers.
• Use proper lifting technique by pushing, pulling, and lifting with your legs and not your back.
• Never approach a saw while it is still running.
• Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the company.
