This individual will take ownership of placing and servicing debt, structuring preferred equity, negotiating loan workouts, and ensuring property management performance through data-driven oversight. Key Responsibilities
- Debt & Structured Finance: Lead the placement of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, bank, and structured finance debt across existing and new assets. Analyze capital stack structures to optimize returns.
- Refinancing & Loan Workouts: Manage refinancing efforts on owned assets, including placing agency debt and negotiating workouts on distressed floating-rate loans with debt funds.
- Portfolio Performance Oversight: Ensure property management firms (including internal entities) are held accountable for financial and operational performance using key financial and operational metrics.
- Risk & Leverage Optimization: Strategically evaluate leverage and financing terms to mitigate risk while maximizing cash flow and equity value.
- Investor & Lender Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with agency lenders, banks, structured finance providers, and equity partners to support capital-raising and transaction execution.
- World-Class Investor Relations & Communications: The individual must be skilled in proactive and effective communication, particularly if an asset is struggling. They must be able to navigate investor expectations, communicate clearly with banks, and provide transparency to equity investors, ensuring trust and confidence in asset performance and recovery strategies.
- Disposition & Exit Strategy Management: Assist in executing sales and refinancing strategies, ensuring optimal exit timing and capital deployment.
- 7 years of experience in real estate finance, structured debt placement, asset management, or portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of multifamily financing structures, including agency debt (Fannie/Freddie), bank loans, debt funds, and preferred equity structures.
- Proven negotiation skills with lenders, investors, and property managers.
- Strong ability to interpret financial statements, assess underwriting models, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in debt servicing, restructuring, and recapitalization strategies.
- Familiarity with value-add and core-plus multifamily investments.
- Ability to oversee property managers and ensure accountability through financial oversight rather than direct operational involvement.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to proactively manage investor and lender expectations, particularly in challenging asset situations.

- Base Salary: $200,000 annually.
