Job Description:
What are we looking for?
Reyn Spooner is in search of a retail sales manager for our Whalers store located in the beautiful island of Maui. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves managing a team of retail sales associates, optimizing store performance, and maintaining the store's inventory and visual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Recruit, train, and develop store staff to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.
- Develop strategies to improve sales performance.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service and satisfaction.
- Address customer complaints and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Oversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
- Manage the store budget and control expenses to optimize profitability.
- Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in retail management or a comparable role (minimum of 2 years preferred).
- Demonstrated supervisory experience (1 year preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Team players who are always ready to encourage and support the team.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with experience creating spreadsheets, presentations, and documents to streamline workflows and enhance data analysis.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, to meet the needs of our thriving business.
- Willingness to perform other duties as required that are necessary to support the business.
- High School diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
- Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently
- Climbing ladders up to 8 feet – occasionally
- Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
