Responsibilities
Your Role
The Cyber Defense Analyst reports directly to the RCP Senior Manager of IT Security Operations and plays a critical role in ensuring the security of RCP systems, networks, and data. The Cyber Defense Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing information security incidents, threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, and risk profiles using data and alerts generated from various systems. This role is responsible for executing security processes, optimizing security technologies, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to enhance RCP’s security posture. The Cyber Defense services were developed with adherence to RCP policies, relevant industry frameworks, regulatory compliance, and operational performance requirements.

- Monitoring and analyzing security-relevant logs, events, and alerts including, but not limited to, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, CAASM, firewalls, file systems, and IPS, documenting relevant incidents, and suggesting/coordinating appropriate remedial actions.
- Maintaining and refining Cyber Defense policies, standards, and playbooks to address evolving threats and industry best practices.
- Working with asset owners to ensure the timely remediation of vulnerabilities discovered through periodic scanning.
- Assessing and prioritizing risk mitigation efforts based on threat intelligence and business impact.
- Taking an active role in improving Cyber Incident Response processes, ensuring rapid containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conducting proactive threat-hunting activities and recommending remediation actions.
- Owning the optimization of the cybersecurity technology stack by analyzing performance, identifying improvements, and implementing enhancements to strengthen security operations and efficiency.
- Evaluating and recommending cybersecurity tools and services to improve RCP’s security posture.
- Shaping the information security culture at RCP and driving adherence to pertinent policies, standards, and procedures.

Qualifications
We need you to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or similar areas of study, or 3 or more years of work experience in a directly related field.
- A determined and proactive approach to mastering Cyber Defense Management, with hands-on experience or coursework related to security operations, threat intelligence, and incident response.
- Outstanding ability to absorb, then apply, and communicate complex cybersecurity concepts effectively to both business and IT stakeholders.
- Exposure to and a strong desire to deepen expertise in securing hybrid multi-cloud environments, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.
- A relentless drive to understand, implement, and contribute to cyber-defense strategies, including working with managed security service providers (MSSPs).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, CIS, NIST CSF, ISO 2700x, and COBIT, with a commitment to applying and evolving best practices in cyber defense.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 5%.
