Primary Job Function :
The Reynoldsburg City Schools' Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of general and technical duties in support of the Human Resources department. Under the direction and guidance of the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist coordinates specific office functions associated with the Human Resource Department and provides support for associated staff.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in general clerical work
- Knowledge of current human resources practices
- Knowledge of State and Federal labor laws and regulations
- Exhibits exceptional professionalism, tact, and courtesy
- Strategic and analytical, consistently performing with a high degree of accuracy
- Outstanding problem-solver
Preferred Qualifications :

Leadership
Assumes responsibilities for the Human Resources Department in the absence of the DirectorPerforms day-to-day HR functions to include but not limited to recruiting, employee relations, compensation, compliance, and training and development for the DistrictResponsible for recruiting and employment activities to include but not limited to job fairs, screening, processing of pre and post-employment data, benefits, etc.Assist with the research, development, and implementation of effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talentIdentifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the DistrictResponsible for employment contract administration and processing. Including annual contract status recommendations, annual salary recommendations, tracking employment contracts, inputting and ensuring accuracy of information added to contractsSupervises the maintenance of departmental records, databases, and filesHelp create and manage a Human Resources Department that is based on best practices with efficient delivery modelsHelp develop and manage standard levels of service and processes across areas of responsibilityResponsible for championing the work of the HR Department in reinforcing RCS organizational cultureEnsures staff have all the tools they need to be successfulResponsible for posting all available positions including :Certified
ClassifiedCivil serviceResponsible for coordinating and approving all leaves of absence for certified and classified staff. This includes but not limited to :FMLA
Unpaid medical leaveDisability leaveMaternity / paternity leaveProfessional leaveSick leaveResponsible for coordinating with the Bureau of Worker's Compensation as well as third-party administrator on all accidents and incidents that occur within the district to staff members.Responsible for reviewing and evaluating applicant qualifications based on licensing requirementsAssist in investigative mattersCommunication and Support
Responsible for supporting annual PERRP filing using data collection and reporting processesResponsible for supporting the HR department for new staff onboardingResponsible for sending job offers for all certified, classified, ESC and civil service positionsResponsible for interpreting policies and procedures of the negotiated agreement, state and federal laws and Board policies to staff who need supportSupport the work of finding new ways to improve employee well-beingAssist with RCS recruitment and job fair eventsSupport the new hire interview process as well as exit interviews when neededSupport HR Director in employee relations mattersCompile and manage a variety of data systems for the purposes of developing formal reports, conveying information and complying with federal, state, and local mandated requirements.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others. The employee is required to sit or stand and move around for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.Working Conditions - The employee in this position may experience occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
