What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technician position at RFA Engineering?
RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an entry-level to experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Engineering Technician
As an Engineering Technician you will work closely with engineering teams to support materials engineering efforts. This individual will work in a lab environment focusing on development and testing of materials and processes including chemicals, plastics, finishes, metallurgy, heat treat, and ceramics.
Responsibilities:
- Completes tasks involving preparation or analysis of material samples/components/processes with minor engineering oversight for moderately complex activities.
- Develop, recommend and implement analytical or process changes needed to maintain or improve product quality on a tactical or strategic basis.
- Work with maintenance and production personnel to troubleshoot laboratory equipment, process, or analytical problems.
- Participate on project teams to leverage knowledge and experience to improve factory performance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
- Create and maintain process instructions or develop analytical processes to meet production needs.
- Create and maintain laboratory procedures and processes.
- Maintain “Sustain” level of 5S in the materials Engineering lab.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science or Associates Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
- Basic to moderate knowledge of ferrous machining processes and application to materials analysis.
- Knowledge of production and analytical equipment, and maintenance activities needed to produce of verify a quality product.
- Must be a self-starter, good communication skills, able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Desired Experience
- Experience in a production environment working with cross functional teams.
- Experience with manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly operations.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis.
