Food Scientist

Position Summary: Under limited supervision gathers and review data, communicates within cross function departments, develops preliminary findings and prepares written reports for our supplier qualification/ current product improvement program. Contributes to the creation, maintenance, and review of integrated ingredients for new or existing formulations. Provide guidance to entry level scientists to meet project timelines.

Position Responsibilities:

· Lead and work with quality assurance and quality control departments in supplier qualification program.

· Maintain and review current products to consolidate ingredients and review cost savings.

· Coordinate plant trials to improve current products.

· Collaborate with cross functional team including processing, packaging and procurement.

· Involve in formulation design, cost calculation, ingredient sourcing coordination, application, sample preparation and new product scale up coordination for powdered drink, liquid drink and color projects.

· Assist production and quality team in new product scale up.

· Sensory evaluation.

· Label review, regulation check and compliance.

Position Requirements:

· MS in Food Science or related field required with minimum 1-3 years’ experience or BS in Food Science or related field required with minimum 3-5 years’ experiences.

· Experience in Product Development or related field

· Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.

· Good understanding of food/dietary supplement industry standards of quality and food safety, and FDA regulations.

· Ability to independently manage project work.

· Demonstrate ability to communicate well and to effectively influence and interact with others

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
