POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse/Shipping Associate will be a part of the operational group responsible for various duties including picking, packing, loading trucks, and handling outbound paperwork.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Picks, packs, loads, and unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks within the facility.
- Working from general procedures and instructions, Warehouse/Shipping Employees will execute transactions in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for performing department processes and safely operating equipment to complete duties.
- Warehouse/Shipping associates must ensure packaging, routing, and systems work is completed accurately and in a timely requirement
- Ensures safe work environment
- Completes tasks by following pre-established procedures
- Follows detailed and defined instructions
- Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position
- Must be flexible in "timely" transactions when moved to different work areas throughout the day
- Must be able to adhere to productivity goals
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Experience in material handling and fork lift certification preferred
- Previous packing and warehouse experience a plus
- Movement of reels by hand when/if required
- SAP experience a plus but other ERP/MRP systems will be considered
- Possess strong self-management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy of work a must
- Good communication skills and the ability to be a team member
- Basic Computer experience (MS Office, Excel preferred)
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma/GED desired
