Job Summary:
The Purchasing Clerk will perform administrative duties for the purchasing department to support the company's operation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Daily supply orders - office supplies and miscellaneous items as requested.
- Material & Hardware orders - deciphering data and quantities listed on bill of material from engineering and compile into monthly material orders.
- Sourcing of new vendors and alternate materials that are competitive with current market rates.
- Inventory control – remain aware of inventory and stock and have the ability to forecast material needs.
- Supplier communication - pricing and quotes, material and hardware lead times, issues and quality complaints, returns/damages.
- Order Tracking - must be able to locate and identify all placed orders. Continuous follow-up with suppliers is a must.
- In-house computer information system - will be responsible for regularly updating and maintaining all purchasing information and orders.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous purchasing and shipping experience preferred.
- At least one year of administrative experience required.
- At least one year of experience working with various computer systems strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
