Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical setting. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and the ability to work effectively in both outpatient and hospital environments, including Level II Trauma Centers and pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with medical standards.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Ensure the clinic or hospital environment is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide comprehensive care for patients, including geriatrics.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential.
- Familiarity with outpatient care practices is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a clinic or hospital setting, particularly in trauma or pediatric care, is a plus.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
