We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Development Lead to drive our product innovation and development efforts. This role requires a dynamic individual who can gather and analyze data, create impactful presentations for upper management, make product recommendations, and develop a comprehensive catalog to support omni-channel sales. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for market trends and a deep understanding of the retail, commercial, and design industry landscapes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Product Development Strategy: Drive the development of innovative lighting and decor products, ensuring they align with Rhea Designs’ brand, market demands, and profitability goals.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends by analyzing market data, customer feedback, and competitor insights to guide product innovation.
- Omni-Channel Sales Integration: Develop a robust catalog to support sales across multiple channels, including large-scale retailers, interior design firms, and commercial businesses such as hospitality and restaurant projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to bring new products from concept to launch.
- Presentation & Communication: Prepare and present product recommendations, business cases, and trend reports to senior management, ensuring strategic alignment with company objectives.
- Supply Chain & Manufacturing Coordination: Partner with suppliers and factories to ensure efficient production, high quality, and cost-effective solutions.
- Product Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and performance tracking.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in product development workflows to enhance efficiency and speed to market.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experienced Leader: 5 years of experience in product development, ideally within the lighting, home decor, or furniture industry.
- Market-Savvy: Strong understanding of industry trends, consumer behavior, and commercial market demands.
- Data-Driven Decision Maker: Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable product strategies.
- Detail-Oriented & Strategic Thinker: Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and drive results.
- Strong Communicator: Exceptional presentation and communication skills to effectively convey product vision and strategy to internal teams and external partners.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with product lifecycle management software is a plus.
- Collaborative & Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with cross-functional collaboration.
Working Conditions:
- This role requires occasional travel for industry trade shows, factory visits, and client meetings.
- Hybrid work model available, with a preference for candidates located in or willing to travel to Santa Clarita, CA.
